New management team takes the helm at Dual Seal Glass

Commercial IGU manufacturing specialist Dual Seal Glass has appointed a new duo as joint managing directors to accelerate its growth plans and build on its already leading market position.

Richard Morris and Nigel Meredith will lead the business as it expands its client base on the strength of its technical knowledge and product range for the specification and manufacture of sealed units for commercial buildings. They take the helm as Dual Seal Glass enters its next chapter following the retirement of Geoff Hancock, who was MD for 10 years.Richard and Nigel will work alongside technical director John Pearson, who took up his post with Dual Seal Glass two years ago after more than seven years as a technical expert within one of the major float glass manufacturers.

Richard, who joined Dual Seal Glass last year, has been directly involved in manufacturing businesses for over 30 years – within independent and group structured companies. He has worked at senior and board level for the last 15 years, including most recently as projects director for a £256m turnover PLC.

Richard’s broad industry experience is complemented by Nigel’s three decades of glass expertise and personal connection to the business, having founded Dual Seal Glass with his father 21 years ago and most recently taking the role of commercial director. Nigel was instrumental in building the business up to its current scale, taking it from a £750k business in 1995 to a turnover of £14.5m today.

Richard says, “This is an exciting time for everyone involved with Dual Seal Glass, and Nigel and I both feel privileged to be heading the team as we enter this next phase. The business has always revolved around great people who understand how important it is that we go the extra mile, so we have in place the ideal platform on which to build our client base and strengthen our market position.”

Nigel adds, “We wish Geoff Hancock the very best wishes for his retirement. He worked tirelessly for Dual Seal Glass which has ensured that we inherit a business that’s in superb shape, underpinned by the values of personal service backed with the right technological and skills set up.”

Operating from its 100,000 sq. ft. factory and head office in Huddersfield, Dual Seal Glass manufactures insulating glass units (IGUs) for curtain walling and façade contractors working on projects across the UK. By working closely with all the main float glass manufacturers, the company offers an extensive range of products to meet virtually any architect’s specification, including those requiring the latest solar control glass options from Saint-Gobain Glass.
