Date: 2 May 2013

After first winning the prestigious accolade in 2011, Lakesmere is delighted to have once again been named as the Specialist Contractor of the Year at the 2013 Building Awards.

As one of the most important dates in the industry’s calendar, the annual event is organised by leading trade magazine Building and aims to recognise and reward the most innovative companies in the construction sector.  Lakesmere beat off strong compeition from six other finalists to be given the highly-regarded award after its submission was rigirously judged by a panel of experts on all areas of the company’s business performance and successes, from health and safety to innovation, customer satisfaction and training, as well as evidence of technical expertise on site.Commenting on the company’s latest award win, Mo Morgan, Lakesmere’s Group Marketing & Communications Manager said: “To have won the prestigious Specialist Contractor of the Year award twice in three years is an incredible achievement and I speak for everyone at Lakesmere when I say we could not be more delighted. Our success is not only testament to the skills and expertise of our staff but also the support of our supply chain partners and clients.”

Lakesmere’s triumphant performance at the Building Awards follows what has been an exciting period of growth for the company, with its continued expansion into International markets, launch of a dedicated Flat Roofing division and the company’s recent acquisition of the trade and assets of McMullen Architectural Systems Ltd.

Mo continued: “Lakesmere has gone through a sustained period of expansion over the last 12 months but throughout all this we have strived to maintain our exceptionally high standards of project delivery, safety standards and client satisfaction and we are proud that our efforts have been recognised by the judging panel and Building Magazine.”

The ceremony was held on Thursday 18th April at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. To watch Lakesmere’s Mark Davey collecting the award, take a look at the exclusive video footage of the event at  www.building-awards.com
