We hope you’ll join us for one or more events this month, which can help you easily earn AIA LU/HSW credits no matter where you’re working. 

Vitro is offering four online Continuing Education (CE) opportunities for our Glass Education Insiders this August. In addition to two of Vitro’s popular core CE courses, our partner Walker Glass will host a session of their CE presentation on acid-etched glass and mirror. ICD High Performance Coatings will also be offering a session of their new CE course that reviews how to specify spandrel and back-painted glass.

This course provides an introduction to how high-performance architectural glass can significantly improve the energy efficiency of buildings while reducing their operating costs and carbon emissions.

    Silicone Coatings: A Guide to Specifying Spandrel and Back-painted Glass 

Presented by Kate Stewart at ICD High Performance Coatings

This course will provide an understanding of the advantages of specifying silicone coatings. Attendees will learn about how to convey project application requirements in silicone coating specifications. This includes the impact of standards, testing and codes to coatings and coating product selection.

This course provides an introduction to the different types of glass that are available and how to use them. Significant emphasis is placed on coated glasses, including the common types of low-e application processes and their impacts on energy and environmental performance.

    Using and Specifying Acid-etched Glass or Mirror in Interior or Exterior Glass Applications
    Presented by Walker Glass

This course will provide attendees with a basic understanding of the acid-etched process, benefits and properties and will look closely at the design of exterior glazing systems, the performance and sustainability of insulated glass units and acid-etched glass specifications with summary analysis of properties.
