Innovative Glass Installations for 2012 Olympics

Lasvit the visionary Czech Republic glass manufacturer will install “Infinity,” an elegant glass lighting sculpture and “Hydrogene Bar,” an illuminated crystal bar, at the Czech House during the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Lasvit is the official crystal partner of the Czech Olympic Team.







Infinity

Inspired by the eternal expanse of the universe and mathematics, glassmaker, Jitka Kamencová Skuhrava designed “Infinity” as an illusion to the oblique symbol. 1,400 hand-blown glass leaves, decorated with linear grooves, form the shape of the letter “S,” creating the impression of the wind gently rustling through the leaves. The 7-meter glass piece will adorn the mezzanine, the public space of the Czech House.
