Not only the unique architecture but also the high-quality construction and the high energy standard make QBIG two an attractive rental property. Room-high insulating glass units with high performance solar control glass Pilkington Suncool™ Blue 50/27 provide a pleasant room climate in the summer and offer all tenants a clear view of the surroundings.
The natural exposure and ventilation of the work places as well as an efficient use of the area were important topics that the architects Riemer Planung GmbH followed in planning.
So there are no dark zones in the whole building, all offices are brightly equipped with room-high-glazed windows or façade elements and can be naturally ventilated. The high flexibility due to variable room structures also takes into account the rastered window facade.
The entire glass building was equipped with approx. 3,000 sqm of solar control triple glazed units made by Flachglas Markenkreis. The architects wanted a glass with medium exterior reflection and blue view. And building physics demanded the lowest possible g-value for the glass with regard to summer warming protection.
The triple glazed units made of Pilkington Suncool™ Blue 50/27 provide a low g value of 24% and a Ug value of 0.6 W/m2K. To minimise the risk of thermal breakage the glass has been toughened.
