Martin Bracamonte has been named vice president, Science and Technology, for Guardian Flat Glass, Auburn Hills, Mich., and will oversee the company's research and development activity at its center in Carleton, Mich."Martin's drive, experience and business acumen make him well suited to operate our research and development activities," said Scott Thomsen, COO and designated Glass Group president. "He brings a strong business focus to our R&D that allows us to continue to maximize our return on investment.

He is right for the role because of his wide range of positions in the glass industry including business, operations, sales, marketing and advanced technology."

Since joining Guardian in 2010, Bracamonte has been responsible for Guardian's energy product development activities, specifically the solar segment. Prior to joining Guardian he was general manager, Pilkington (NSG) Chile; vice president of Operations, Pilkington (NSG) North America; and plant manager at Pilkington (NSG) VASA Argentina. He has held leadership positions in production (float, pattern, mirror, coated and laminated), sales, technology, distribution and automotive.
