Two years ago National Auto Glass was on the verge of closing. It was losing R7m/year, having been knocked out of the cash market for windscreens by cheap Chinese imports.

Two years ago National Auto Glass (NAG) was on the verge of closing. It was losing R7m/year, having been knocked out of the cash market for windscreens by cheap Chinese imports.



Chinese windscreen imports averaged 18000/month in the first six months of 2009, according to SA Revenue Service import statistics. By the first six months of 2011, this number had tripled to 56000/month.
