Two years ago National Auto Glass (NAG) was on the verge of closing. It was losing R7m/year, having been knocked out of the cash market for windscreens by cheap Chinese imports.



Chinese windscreen imports averaged 18000/month in the first six months of 2009, according to SA Revenue Service import statistics. By the first six months of 2011, this number had tripled to 56000/month.
