The Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) 2011 conference, Living with Glass, will explore the many ways we use glass in interiors.

Speakers will represent the best of international practice. Richard Meitner, Anna Dickinson, Simon Moore, Harry Cardross, Eva Menz, Heike Klussmann and Thorsten Klooster (creators of ‘Blingcrete’) and Florian Lechner. The conference explores thought-provoking installation and sculpture, tableware, lighting and architectural virtuosity. A dramatic glass, light and sound perfomance will be part of the experience in the Art Deco De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill on Sea.



Delegates break-out sessions include: ‘Getting your designs manufactured’ by David Proto;  and ‘Mentoring – One year On: Just what do you get from mentoring and being mentored’. Twenty artists will be presenting their work in a live Glass Pechakucha - to take part contact CGS directly.



The 2011 conference, sponsored by commercial supplier Creative Glass, will coincide with the partner exhibition ‘Living with Glass’ in collaboration with Vessel Gallery, London. 15th September – 30th October 2011.



The Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) was founded in 1997 and is a non-profit making limited company by guarantee, with dual objectives of encouraging excellence in glass as a creative medium and developing a greater awareness and appreciation of contemporary glass world wide. CGS is aimed at those working in or interested in contemporary glass. At present they have connections with over 1000 artists, academics, suppliers, collectors, galleries and enthusiasts, and a current membership of 700.
