The striking glass facades of this new residential development are making their mark on the South Brisbane skyline.

With soaring flush-glazed facades this new development in South Brisbane may look more like an office building but is instead an exciting residential addition to this fast growing suburb. With three towers of 34, 32 and 18 storeys respectively, the recently completed complex has made its mark on the South Brisbane skyline.

The “Brisbane 1” master planned development features a variety of residences including one, two and three bedroom apartments, below a series of luxurious penthouses. The main entrance is a double-height hotel-style lobby, which leads to a podium level with an impressive list of onsite facilities.

The somewhat commercial look of the buildings’ facades is not surprising, given they have been constructed with Alspec’s Hunter Evo Flush Glazed framing. Developed for the commercial environment, Hunter Evo is also developing as a popular choice in the high-rise residential market as it delivers high-end performance specifications alongside the flush finish which has visual appeal for designers and architects.

With oversize 2.6m high ceilings as standard throughout the development, the Hunter Evo framing provides residents with floor-to-ceiling windows which deliver impressive views towards the CBD in the northeast and the river to the northwest. The added benefit of double glazing gives peace of mind the apartments will be well insulated against the elements and protected from any potential noise from the urban environment.

Every apartment features a balcony, with access provided through Hawkesbury High Performance sliding doors. Another popular product from Alspec’s commercial range, Hawkesbury doors provide effortless sliding, durability and enhanced weather protection features which occupants will appreciate.

Across the development there are a large range of facilities for residents including rooftop terraces, a gymnasium, a children’s play room, barbeque areas, a Clubhouse and a 25m lagoon style pool. Alspec’s Swan Evo 45mm Commercial Doors were used when hinged or pivoted doors entry/exit doors were required for these facilities.

Meanwhile Hawkesbury Multi-Fold commercial doors were the ideal choice for areas which needed the option to integrate with indoor-outdoor areas such as the roof top terraces. Hawkesbury doors can be configured to stack inside or outside out of the way when opened, while still being weather-tight against the elements when securely locked.

With all the onsite facilities, plus the dining, entertainment and shopping on their doorstep in South Brisbane, residents of Brisbane 1 will be hard pressed to find reasons to venture too far from their new home.
