Andersen Corporation Names SVP of Sales and Marketing

BAYPORT, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Andersen Corporation recently named Salvatore Abbate as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing.

In this newly created position, Abbate will be responsible for leading the development of sales and marketing strategies, initiatives and programs that result in revenue growth and competitive advantage within channels and customer segments. He reports to Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Craig Evanich.

“Sal’s more than 20 years of experience in building materials and consumer products will be a great asset for us,” Evanich said. “His values and leadership qualities make him an excellent fit for Andersen.”

Abbate brings strong expertise in the areas of sales, marketing and engineering, as well as more than 20 years of experience in building and consumer products manufacturing. He began his career with Armstrong, where he spent 16 years learning all aspects of the business. He joins Andersen from Solutia, Inc., a specialties chemicals company, where his most recent position was vice president of Global Sales and Marketing of the Performance Films division, a business whose products improve the efficiency, safety and functionality of windows and glass surfaces, as well as electronic devices. In this role, he was responsible for all product line portfolios, new product development, advertising, promotion and regional sales and marketing plans for go-to-market channels that included direct-to-dealer, third-party distribution and major home centers and retailers.

Abbate earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech and his MBA in marketing and strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
