Guardian Industries is seeking you to become our next Procurement Coordinator in Chicago, Illinois!
A Day In The Life Typically Includes
Coordinates and expedites flow of equipment, materials, parts, assemblies, and other materials according to schedules or priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records.
Reviews schedules and related information and confers with others to determine packaging, raw material components requirements to identify and track overdue packaging materials.
Requisitions packaging material and establishes sequential delivery dates, according to priorities and material availability.
Examines material delivered to verify conformance to specifications.
Arranges transfer of materials to meet schedules.
Computes amount of packaging material required to complete jobs.
Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process reports, and status and location of materials.
Provides training on forklift operation and shipping/receiving practices
Serves as an internal auditor
Orders supplies for both buildings (cardboard, paper, boxes, staples, and nails, frames, paint and other supplies assigned)
Orders alcohol, vinegar, DBTO, Chemicals and other raw materials to support production.
Determines quantities needed of small and large racks per the schedule and arranges delivery from our 3 facilities
Maintains spreadsheet of supplier score card late loads & defects
Orders chemical mix from Exchange building & schedules deliveries based on when Halsted production needs them
Does invoicing and shipping —update demand for some customers from website based and make to order
Oversees shipments by doing transfers based on direction from Manager
Handles all UPS from locations or as assigned – e.g. weighing, paperwork
Handles admin (paperwork) & operations
Does transfers to other buildings
Handles Purchase Clearing
Receives glass & materials. Confirm reception & transfer receipt to Dave for Payment—glass, frames & chemicals
Closes production on the Sage (MAS 90) software which relieves the raw inventory while putting the finished goods in stock.
Enters external purchase orders into system
Does physical inventory count as assigned at end or beginning of month
Does all other duties as assigned
What You Will Need?
High school diploma or GED is preferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Attention to detail, as most activities are essential to support accounting and production
Familiar with ISO and Materials processes
Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, process charts, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license and work on all facilities
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer literate in Windows 95/98/2000/XP, MSOffice, Access, and familiarity with Sage (MAS 90) preferred
