Guardian Glass is seeking you to become our next Data Analyst!
Guardian is looking to start up a new capability in the glassmaking space utilizing centralized process data to solve large, scalable problems. This is an exciting new endeavor for us, with a start up feel in a large company with a wealth of resources. You can expect a fast paced, nimble, small team looking to expand.
Thriving individuals for this role will need good technical skills, communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team to solve problems. In alignment with our culture, a successful individual in this role must be willing to take personal initiative to understand specific process operations, gain relevant knowledge, engage SME's and must be able to work both individually and as a part of a team in a dynamic environment. This team member must also drive to make us more data driven and be able to communicate results.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes
(25% of day) Start each day by reviewing data flow and automated analysis for anomalies, Diagnose and work directly with the appropriate subject matter experts (SMEs) and the sites to add value to our operations
(25% of day) Support the acquisition of new data from data sources (primary or secondary) and help organize and maintain our databases and data systems (the new wealth of knowledge of our organization)
(50% of day) Work together as a collaborative team (Guardian and Vendors) on chronic problems or large opportunities where the combined skills of the team can help to solve problems. Perform analyses to address these problems and communicate results to enable data-driven decisions.
What You Will Need?
Bachelor’s Degree required
3-5 years minimum experience in an analyst role
Highly proficient with Functional Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Note etc.)
Experience with analytic tools, python, R, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
Experience with SQL, MySQL, AWS
Strong verbal and written communication skills (social networking, i.e. similar but not limited to tools such as Yammer)
Analytical ability with demonstrated use examples
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data using statistical techniques
Willing and able to travel to sites to build relationships with operations and to understand processes
What Will Put You Ahead
5+ years of experience in an analysis role supporting manufacturing/operations/production processes.
Fluency with analytic tools, python, R, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
Fluency with SQL, MySQL, AWS
Experience setting up data streams from process to relational database
Knowledge of big data tools such as Hadoop, SparkMap Reduce, Pig, Solr
Experience with big data and cloud solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Amazon SageMaker and/or SAS).
