August 1, 2012 — YKK AP America, the leader in manufacturing high quality architectural products, introduces an addition to its window family of products with its thermally broken YES SSG TU Vent for storefront, window or curtain wall applications.Best-In-Class Thermal Performance - The YES SSG TU Vent meets the requirements of the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC):• Zones 4 - 6 – Overall system u-Factor = 0.41 with standard (u = 0.29COG) Low E insulating glass. This is the most economical Low E insulating glass unit, built with one surface low e coated, standard box spacer and air filled.

Zones 7 - 8 - Overall system u-Factor = 0.37 with high performance insulating glass (u = 0.24COG).

Ultimate performance – Overall system u-Factor = 0.34 with high performance insulating glass (u = 0.20COG), far exceeding the 2012 IECC.

YES SSG TU Vent is designed as a standard product offering with sizes up to 37- 1/2" x 61-1/2" (or 61-1/2" x 37-1/2"). This thermally broken vent is compatible with YKK AP’s most popular framing systems, including YES 45 XT, YCW 750 XT and YWW 45 TU. YES SSG TU Vent is an AW rated product with Performance Grade 65, and a water performance rating of 15 PSF.

Additional testing was conducted to support custom and oversize applications up to 70" x 66. YES SSG TU Vent also incorporates YKK AP’s patented thermal break technology, ThermaBond Plus®, which enables reduced heat flow through the framing.

“The design of YES SSG TU Vent gives architects the aesthetics they seek in a design – vents that blend into and look like part of the wall system,” said Greg Galloway, product marketing manager at YKK AP America. “With exceptional thermal performance and an overall system u-Factor of 0.41, coupled with the flexibility this system offers, architects and specifiers are able to bring the outside in.”
