The VEKA UK Group is celebrating the resounding success of its new website, a little over a year since it first went ‘live’.

Designed to reflect VEKA’s position as the leading supplier of PVC-U window systems – in the UK, Europe and worldwide – the site presents a wealth of information in an easily navigable, user-friendly format.

Simon James, Head of Marketing for The VEKA UK Group explains: “The website is a crucial way for us to engage with both trade and consumer markets, and the stats we have seen over the past year demonstrate how well it has fulfilled both those functions.

“We have noticed a sizeable shift in installers and fabricators using the website to access information, where previously they might have called our technical helpline.

Of course, there’s no substitute for talking one-to-one with an expert and we’re always happy to help and advise, but we have found that the majority of phone queries we used to receive are now being resolved online.”

News items, informative videos and product info downloads are among the many resources available via www.vekauk.com, as well as password-protected technical documents for trade customers – accounting for around a third of all items downloaded from the website.

Andy Foulkes, Production Manager for Listers Trade Frames is a regular visitor to the site: “We find the website very easy to use; it’s great because it’s all there at the click of a button. We use the site for technical information, technical drawings and new products. The other brilliant thing is, any updates or technical changes, we get an email notification.”

Chris Reeks, Sales and Marketing Manager for Mercury Glazing Supplies agrees: “We find the site very useful for most of the information we require. The technical download section is particularly handy, answering a lot of our questions immediately and – in doing so – saving time for our sales and processing teams.”

Chris Widdowfield of SWC Trade Frames explains how the site particularly supports him in his job: “I use the site for information downloads and product info, and this is extremely helpful to me in my role as company engineer. It is also a great way to keep up with the industry as the embedded Twitter feed provides a valuable insight into what is going on elsewhere.”

Chris Hatch, IT Manager at Glazerite adds: “We maintain a comprehensive technical library to support our staff and customers, and VEKA’s website has been a massive support. We’ve been able to quickly obtain information for the products we manufacture and also use it as a resource for those we don’t.

“We expanded in to Halo manufacturing with the acquisition of City Beads earlier this year, and the website has provided up-to-date information on a product we previously had limited technical knowledge about.

The notifications you receive based on what you have previously downloaded are another particularly useful feature, so we can take steps to update our technical library and our Business Micros Evolution manufacturing software, whenever there’s an update.”

Simon James concludes: “It’s been a great first year for the new www.vekauk.com and trade customers and homeowners can rest assured that we will continue to develop our online support. We’re always open to feedback and suggestions, so pay us an online visit soon!”
