World’s biggest floating glass to be built late this year in Chu Lai

Nhandan.com reported that the construction of world’s largest floating glass is scheduled to start late this year at the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Nam.

The factory is run by Chu Lai Floating Glass Company which has been set up by the Vietnam Coal and Minerals Industry Group (TKV), the Industrial Development Holdings Company and the one-member Mining Chemicals Industrial Company Limited.TKV contributes 51% of investment capital.

The factory has a design capacity of 1,000 tonnes a day and is scheduled to be operational in two years’ time.

There are currently three floating glass factories in the world. The biggest has a capacity of 930 tonnes a day.
