Worker catches arm in machine

An employee at a Telford factory was taken to a Philadelphia hospital Monday after an industrial accident.James Whetherspoon, 37, of Reliance Circle, Hilltown Township, was operating an industrial glass roller at the Oldcastle Glass Co., 375 E.

Church Ave., when his left arm was caught in the machine about 6:30 a.m. Monday, borough police said.

Whetherspoon got his arm out of the machine, and fellow employees took him to St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was taken from St. Luke's to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, police said.

A hospital spokeswoman said there was no record of Whetherspoon's admittance to Thomas Jefferson.

Police said Whetherspoon sustained severe injuries to his arm.

They also said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and is investigating.
