Windscreen order for MiG-27

Pilkington Aerospace has recieved a $4m order for windscreens for the Mikoyan MiG-27 jet fighter from Hindustan Aeronautical Laboratories (HAL Nasik), located in India.

The Mikoyan MiG-27, a Russian built jet fighter, is still flying in several countries in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa and HAL chose Pilkington Aerospace for its product quality, especially with regard to the optical characteristics.The order, which had been anticipated earlier last year, was delayed as the aircraft had been grounded due to a number of unexplained crashes.The MiG 27 windscreen is similar to the MiG 23 windscreens and now HAL are replacing the complete fleet of MiG 27 and MiG 23 (approximately 233 aircraft) with Pilkington windscreens.Pilkington Aerospace has recieved a $4m order for windscreens for the Mikoyan MiG-27 jet fighter from Hindustan Aeronautical Laboratories (HAL Nasik), located in India.
