ToughGlaze were tasked with providing 1,000m² of digitally printed toughened glass with a pattern that mimicked cotton threads.

A new landmark store for the John Lewis Partnership to house both the John Lewis and Waitrose brands has been developed in partnership with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

The new store will deliver over 110,000 sq ft (net) of retail space for Waitrose and John Lewis at Home, and a new café, representing a significant boost to Basingstoke's retail offer.

The project is the first phase of an extensive regeneration of the Basing View business park and will create a new gateway building.

The sharply chiselled elevation has been shaped to screen the upper-level car park and plant levels, whilst creating a building with significant urban presence within the town centre.

ToughGlaze were tasked with providing 1,000m² of digitally printed toughened glass with a pattern that mimicked cotton threads. Using our diptech digital printer to 750 d.p.i. we managed to exceed the customers' expectations.

The glass was then incorporated, by our sister company Crystal Units, into a 6mm Guardian S/N 70/41 + 6mm clear toughened, argon filled sealed units.
