Third show day offers insightful information for glass-processing machinery manufacturers. Large international attendance confirmed.

The third day at Vitrum closed on a high note, thanks to strong international attendance and to the keen interest shown by the many top buyers flocking to Halls 5 and 7, attracted by the demos of fully operational systems and global previews of new solutions on display at the show.

The start of the third workday at Vitrum still reverberated with the exhilarating echoes of the DJ-set by Kay Rush, who spiced up the evening for all attendees in the Fiera Milano Rho Service Center on Wednesday, under the futuristic glass canopy designed by Fuksas.

Just a few hours later, all attendees were ready to get down to business and tackle another busy day. “The evolution of International Standards for glass processing machinery” seminar, presented by Paolo Sorcelli, Head of the Gimav Technical Committee, was held in the Meeting Area in Pavilion 5 (Stand V21-Z30) in the morning. It was followed in the afternoon by the “Corporate compliance, with a focus on complex markets such as the USA.

Present and future outlook in preventing liabilities related to the commercialization of industrial products” seminar led by Giuseppe Francesco Bonacci, Head of the Litigation and Corporate Compliance Department of LR Lex Avvocati Associati (legal firm) and Edoardo Tosetto, Senior Associate at LR Lex Avvocati Associati.

Both seminars were highly attended and provided insightful information about issues of interest to the industry. Corporate compliance and harmonization of international standards are, in fact, critical issues of topical relevance for all industry professionals and businesses.

Tomorrow, Friday October 4th at 10:00 am in the Meeting Area in Pavilion 5 (Stand V21-Z30) Vitrum’s last seminar: “The industrial world grapples with “virtual defenses” as the Cybersecurity market and Cybercrime continue to grow” will take place https://www.vitrum-milano.com/en/news/seminar-the-industrial-world-grapples-with-virtualdefenses-as-the-cybersecurity-market-and-cybercrime-continue-to-grow/.

Businesses everywhere, including those in the glass processing industry, report an increase in Cybercrime activities. With a view to safeguarding corporate data and technological know-how from such attacks, Giuseppe Francesco Bonacci, Head of the Corporate Litigation and Compliance Department of LR Lex Avvocati Associati will illustrate the most suitable “virtual defense” policies.

In the Artisans Area, Marina Convento, master bead stringer and Vice President of the Committee for the Protection of bead makers and bead stringers, showed the history and techniques of this “artistic craft”, a Unesco candidate for recognition as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”.

Tomorrow’s highlight in the Artisans Area is Glass Tourism, a university project designed to show historical glass processing sites in Italy in their best light. In addition to Murano, Italy boasts other historic villages whose identity revolves around glass processing. These include Altare (near Savona), famous for its blown glass, Piegaro, near Perugia, and Empoli, a small town in Tuscany, near Florence.

On the last show day, the spotlight will be on the “Invite and Win” competition that involved all exhibitors. They enthusiastically acted as hosts to promote visits to their stands and to Vitrum 2019. The best companies in each category area will be presented with an award in the Meeting Area at 1:00 pm.
