The Glass Association of North America (GANA) today announced that Vitro America has joined theGlazing Industry Code Committee (GICC), a group within GANA that discusses code policy and advocates on behalf of the industry.

GICC, previously a stand-alone organization, became a part of GANA at the beginning of 2010. It currently has 17 members, including Alliance Members the International Window Film Association (IWFA) and the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA).

"Vitro America is thrilled to be a part of this excellent organization," says Max Perilstein, director of marketing and new business development for Vitro America. "As we continue to expand our product lines, we are finding that our industry faces a lot of challenges, and we feel being a part of the GICC will give us the best voice in addressing what may come down the road."

GICC meets frequently to discuss issues involving the International Code Council (ICC), the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), the International Building Code (IBC), the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) and more. Dr. Tom Culp of Birch Point Consulting LLC and Thom Zaremba of Roetzel and Andress act as consultants for GICC, advocating positions taken by GICC before various code setting organizations.

"It’s great to see Vitro America join GICC, and especially to bring Max’s enthusiasm to this important and already active group," says Culp.
