Honda of the UK Manufacturing Limited recently recognized Visteon Corporation's (NYSE: VC) Enfield plant in the U.K. for quality manufacturing of instrument panels and center consoles for the popular Honda CR-V model.

In the category of quality of supplied parts, Visteon was one of only five companies -- and the only interior-related supplier -- to receive this prestigious award.

Visteon has supplied components to the Honda plant in Swindon, U.K. since 2001. Malcolm Simpson, manufacturing manager for the Enfield Plant, stated, "This award recognizes the consistent quality of the parts supplied by Visteon that are assembled into left hand drive Honda CR-V models, which are then exported to the North American market and EU countries."

The instrument panels are injection-molded at the Visteon facility, where they are also painted and assembled. The total system is then supplied to Honda's Swindon plant.

Visteon has four major manufacturing plants in the U.K. Enfield specializes in the manufacture of interior and driver information systems. The plant also supplies Ford, PAG and several other automakers.
