Universal Window and Door Adds Materials Manager Karp

Universal Window and Door, a leading manufacturer of custom window solutions for historic renovation and commercial construction projects, today announced the hiring of Alan Karp to the position of Materials Manager.

Alan brings a wealth of experience to the position as a 25 year veteran of the commercial window industry, having previously served in various capacities with E.R.Lewin, American Window Products, and North American Manufacturing.

“Alan’s depth of knowledge in all aspects of the commercial window industry will be a huge boon to Universal Window and Door as we continue to grow our business,” said Charlotte Broussard, owner of the firm. “His experience as a purchasing agent in our field gives him a unique ability to deal effectively with vendors specific to our industry.”

Over the course of his career, Alan has served as a purchasing agent, inventory controller and a human resources professional, including payroll and retirement benefits administration. In his new position, Alan will report directly to President and CEO Tony Muraco, and will be responsible for all purchasing functions, materials management and cost analysis.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of this position with this growing company,” said Karp. “It allows me to capitalize on my previous experience while expanding my responsibilities.”

Alan was educated at the Lowell Technological Institute, is the father of two and resides in Milford, MA with his wife.
