The 11 waste transfer stations have been established by Axion Recycling with help from market-development organisation Recycling Action Yorkshire (RAY).
The network set up across Yorkshire and Humber is believed to be the first regional network in the UK.
It should help glaziers operating there to recycle some of the estimated 30,000 tonnes of glazing waste generated annually.
RAY glass project manager Ben Stone said: "This is a major recycling milestone. Nationally UK window companies generate around 190,000 tonnes of waste glass, PVC and wood a year. The potential to reduce landfill, save raw materials and cut carbon emissions is substantial if this innovative scheme is replicated nationwide."
Two window installation companies have also signed-up to the project and one station, based at Creation Recycling in Rotherham, is expecting to divert 700 tonnes of glazing waste from landfill by next March.
