The average price of manufactured products in the U.K. recorded an increase of 0.3 per cent in February, the Office for National Statistics said a report Monday.
Prices excluding items like food, drinks, tobacco and petrol rose 0.5 per cent, which is the sharpest rise since April 2006, the ONS said. One factor that contributed to this increase, according to ONS, is the sharp increase in scrap metal prices -- by as much as 10 per cent on the month -- and a rise in shaped and processed flat glass, which posted 4.2 per cent increase and which is the largest monthly increase since records began in 1991.
