The Competition Commission (CC) has today published an issues statement as part of its inquiry into the completed acquisition by Ardagh International Holdings Ltd of Redfearn Glass Limited (previously Rexam Glass Barnsley Limited).
The CC has been asked to consider whether the acquisition may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within the market (or any related markets) for the supply of glass containers in the UK.The OFT has said that following the acquisition, Ardagh controls 50 per cent of the supply of most types of glass containers in the UK.
