In 2019, the two European codes EN 16612 and EN 16613 were introduced for the calculation of the strength of glass and laminated glass.

These codes will replace or complement the national strength calculation code in the different countries of the European union. The implementation of the code in each country should be completed by the middle of this year.

For the calculation of strength in laminated glass, this new code will allow to take into consideration the type of interlayer. This is important since the interlayer properties will influence the stress and the deformation in the glass under a certain load. This is characterized by a factor named Omega.

The new brochure lists the mechanical properties of the Trosifol® interlayers under the pre-defined load cases which are necessary to establish the Omega factor.
