The fully revised TROSIFOL BG product line for architectural glazing showcased by the TROSIFOL Division of Kuraray Europe GmbH obtains priority at this year’s VITRUM in Milan.

This new generation of building-grade PVB films is based on the recognized quality of the former TROSIFOL MB, PR and MV lines – products whose reputation goes back many decades. A new name for a new product range appeared appropriate in view of the long list of improved characteristics embodied in these films.

What lies behind this innovation? The BG range relies on an optimised system of enhanced PVB resins used in conjunction with a new plasticizer. This combination yields a new PVB film with significantly reduced plasticizer volatility and superior long-term stability properties. The new system will be implemented throughout the entire standard product range. Theimprovements outlined above give rise to numerous superior product characteristics which set TROSIFOL BG clearly apart from previous product offerings. Thus, the increased stiffness of the new films gives better edgetrimming results and facilitates cutting operations. A reduced susceptibility to electrostatic charge build-up minimizes dust contamination risks in the production process. In addition, a further refined surface finish provides improved pre-laminate deairing behaviour. Product yellowness, too, has been reduced once again compared to previous product specifications, so the new films will impart an improved optical quality to the resulting laminated safety glass, specifically with multi-layer make-ups.

A broadened range of available adhesion levels allows users to select the optimum film for diverse application needs. TROSIFOL BG is available in various adhesion grades to provide the ideal product solution for different application cases. The new range is available in film thicknesses from 0.38 to 2.28 mm and widths up to 3.21 m, with roll lengths extending up to 1,000 m. Moreover, the user has a choice between transparent film and the familiar standard colours. For maximum customer convenience, BG film can be ordered in either refrigerated or PE interleaved versions.

Now the new product line-up is splitted into a standard (BG) range and the so-called "special range" comprising the company's SOUND CONTROL, COLOUR, HR 100, XT 90 and SOLAR films. Needless to say, the BG product range meets all requirements of DIN EN ISO 12600 (pendulum impact test), DIN EN ISO 356 and DIN EN ISO 12543-4. All products come fully tested and certified accordingly.
