Toledo Museum of Art to Break Ground for Glass Pavilion

The media is invited to attend the groundbreaking for the Glass Pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art on Monday, November 10, 2003.

The event will begin promptly at 5 P.M. in the Museum’s Peristyle.

Speaking at the groundbreaking will be: Toledo Mayor Jack Ford; James A. Hoffman, Museum board of trustees president; Roger Berkowitz, the Museum’s CEO, President, and Director; Georgia and David K. Welles, co-chairs of the Museum’s Founders of the Second Century capital campaign; Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, the architects of the Glass Pavilion; and Richard Putney and Katerina Reudi Ray. These speakers will be available for interviews following the ceremony.

When complete, the Glass Pavilion will house the Museum’s world-renowned collection of glass and will reside within the site bounded by Monroe St., Parkwood Ave., Woodruff Ave. and Scottwood Ave.
