Strainoptics Products to be Exhibited at Glasstec 2010

Date: 4 August 2010
Source: Strainoptics
Stand 12 C65. A complete line of products for non-destructive inspection and measurement of residual stress in glass will be exhibited at Glasstec 2010 by Strainoptics, Inc., of North Wales, PA USA.

In addition to its GASP® surface polarimeter, currently used universally for measuring surface compression in heat-treated glass, the company will display a range of other instruments. This includes equipment for measuring edge compression and near-edge tension, as well as stress distribution in annealed and float glass. Application engineers will be present to demonstrate the instruments and evaluate visitor’s samples.

The Strainoptics’ Auto-GASP® polarimeter automatically reports and stores surface compression measurements using provided PC software and a video camera that takes the place of the standard GASP eyepiece. The instrument can be ordered as a complete system or as a kit for easily converting conventional GASP units.
