Stained glass window is love token to late wife

A stained glass window to commemorate a war time love story has been installed in St Mary’s RC Church.

The window was commissioned by Mr Kazimierz Dudzinski in memory of his late wife, Haddington native Helen Wilson, who died four years ago.Born in Poland, Mr Dudzinski met his wife to be in 1942 while he was stationed in Haddington during the second world war.The couple immediately fell in love and later the same year were married in St Mary’s.

Mr Dudzinski approached local stained glass artist Anita Pate, of East Linton for help in designing and making a window in memory of his wife – to be placed in the church where they were married.
