Spettmann New Chairman of the SCHOTT Supervisory Board

Dr. rer. pol. Theo Spettmann has now become the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SCHOTT AG, Mainz. The Supervisory Board elected the former Spokesman of the Executive Board of Südzucker AG to succeed Dr.

Eggert Voscherau, who resigned from this position for personal reasons on February 15, 2010.
 
Dr. Spettmann held various management positions at Südzucker AG, Mannheim, since 1979. He became a member of the Executive Board in 1988 and served as Spokesman of the Executive Board for the globally active food company from 1995 until 2009.
 
“We are truly looking forward to working with Dr. Spettmann. SCHOTT will benefit considerably from his many decades of entrepreneurial experience in an international environment,” said Prof. Udo Ungeheuer, Chairman of the Board of Management of SCHOTT AG.
On February 16, Spettmann also became the Chairman of the Shareholder Council of the Carl Zeiss Foundation, Heidenheim and Jena, the sole shareholder in SCHOTT AG. This position was also held by Voscherau.
