The former base of Nippon Electric Glass in Cardiff Bay may be about to become a centre for transforming contaminated waste into useful products.
Vitrium Holdings wants to build the UK's first commercial virtrification plant there to convert waste into a glass product.The site at Ocean Park is owned by NEG (UK) Ltd.Vitrium has claimed that negotiations with the company are positive and they are optimistic a deal can be secured by the end of the month.
It has suggested that 120 jobs may be created if its plans to acquire the site succeed.
John Evans, Vitrium chief executive, said, "We remain positive a deal can be reached with the Japanese owners after negotiations began very successfully. They want to sell and we want to buy, but both of us want a good deal.
