Revolutionary new system from 3M Aerospace launches at AUSA ConferenceST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--3M announces a revolutionary new aviation window restoration system at this year’s AUSA conference in Washington D.

C., October 10-12. The 3M Aviation Window Restoration System by Clearfix Aerospace is one of the most significant advancements in aircraft window repair technology, solving safety issues around window clarity while considerably reducing aircraft downtime and window replacement costs.

“The Clearfix product line and process was developed, perfected and patented over 14 years,” said Bill Norville, polymer chemist and CEO and founder of Clearfix Aerospace. “The opportunity to market this with 3M is a dream come true.”

The 3M Clearfix System was developed to solve an unmet need for improved clarity on military rotorcraft. Many helicopters use acrylic windows for weight reduction, but those windows can sustain a significant amount of damage from sand, dirt and debris. NAVAIR estimates use of the 3M Clearfix System, could save the U.S. Military as much as 80 percent of the replacement cost of windows on all platforms of rotorcraft. At the same time, it also reduces downtime for this repair by as much as 85 percent.

“3M is proud to be introducing a product that will have such a tremendous impact in helping military personnel who operate aircraft,” says Brian Kenady, marketing development supervisor, 3M Aerospace and Aircraft Maintenance Department. “We look forward to showing all military units the benefits of using this system and helping them incorporate it as part of their repair protocols.”

The 3M Clearfix System will launch at the AUSA Convention in Washington D.C., October 10-12. There will be a live demonstration of the system at the 3M booth, #3925. 3M and Clearfix Aerospace will also be at the AAAA Luther Jones Aviation Summit, booth #106-110, in Corpus Christi, Texas from October 25-27.
