SCHOTT Extends Board Of Management

Today, the Supervisory Board of SCHOTT AG appointed Stephan Schaller (52) to the technology group’s Board of Management with effect from May 1, 2010, at the initiative of Prof.

Udo Ungeheuer. He will assume the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Management and be responsible for the areas Solar, Pharmaceutical Systems, Architecture and Purchasing. Prof. Udo Ungeheuer (Chairman), Dr. Jürgen Dahmer, Dr. Hans-Joachim Konz and Klaus Rübenthaler will all continue to serve as members of the Board of the fast-growing company.
 
Stephan Schaller
Stephan Schaller completed his mechanical engineering studies at the RWTH Aachen and received his engineering degree. He then held various management positions with BMW in Germany and South Africa between 1983 and 1999. He subsequently took over responsibility for the technology division at Linde AG and was appointed a member of the management team for the area of refrigeration technology in 2000. In 2004, he left to become a Board member of Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge and served as its speaker from 2007 until January 2010.
 
Now that he will be serving as a Board member of SCHOTT, Stephan Schaller will be resigning from the Supervisory Board of SCHOTT AG that he has been a member of since January 1, 2008. He will be succeeded on this committee by Prof. Günther Schuh, Professor of Production Systems at the RWTH Aachen.
