Celebrating over one decade experience in BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) solutions, Scheuten Solar extends its Optisol® brand with five application specific product lines.

Besides the fully customized solutions, the Optisol® family now comprises the S-line: Optisol® Sky, Screen, Skin, Shade and Street, for respectively overhead glazing, warm façades, cold façades, sun shades and public space applications. These standardized solutions meet both the aesthetic needs of architects as well as the stringent construction requirements of installers and façade builders.

To provide a head start in the sustainable building design and renovation process, Scheuten Solar has developed dedicated product lines for integrating PV in diverse applications in the built environment. In contrast to the standard framed PV modules, BIPV solutions are considered as regular building materials like glass, with virtually limitless design freedom in shapes, sizes, colors and transparency, whilst complying with many different construction requirements.

Stimulated by recent European energy legislation (EPBD2), real estate and home owners, architects, construction engineers and project developers are increasingly fitting building designs with photovoltaic solutions.

Scheuten Solar is able to build on many years of experience in the field of glass and PV products. Jan- Willem Tolkamp, manager of the international BIPV team: “Our BIPV solutions make optimum use of the benefits of solar energy in the built environment. Thanks to our combined knowledge of glass and PV, we can provide our customers with comprehensive advice and turn-key BIPV solutions. This way buildings become a daily source of income instead of cost.”
