Saint-Gobain's Packaging Sector Continues Its Growth In Russia

Saint-Gobain Oberland AG, a German company of Saint-Gobain's Packaging Sector, has signed an agreement to purchase a majority stake in ZAO Kamyshinsky Steklotarny Zawod located in Kamyshin, Russia.

Finalization of this transaction is subject to approval from the Russian authorities.







Located in the Volgograd region, this glassworks mainly produces jars as well as clear glass bottles for the food and beverage industries. In 2007, this facility, with more than 1,000 employees and sales of 42 million euros, manufactured 500 million glass containers.







The acquisition of this company, the leading jar manufacturer in Russia, completes the product range offered by Saint-Gobain Kavminsteklo, the leader in Southern Russia, and which is currently undertaking a major investment program in this zone.







This operation is in line with the Packaging Sector's growth strategy in Russia.
