Saint-Gobain SA said its Scandinavian subsidiary, Saint-Gobain Nordic, has bought Optimera Gruppen AS of Norway, a distributor of building materials that has a commercial network of 95 brands in Norway and Sweden.
The acquisition is part of Saint-Gobain's expansion into Scandinavia, which began last year with the purchase of Sweden's Dahl International, a distributor of heating, plumbing and sanitary equipment.
Optimera sales rose 11.4 pct last year to 514 mln eur, Saint-Gobain said, and employs over 1,400 people. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
