Saint-Gobain to boost sales, upgrade plant and enter local container market

Saint-Gobain, a producer of glass, isolation and construction materials and which already operates in this country, plans to double its sales revenues by 2008.

Last year, the company's sales amounted to EUR 380 million, some 30% more than the year before. "We want every euro invested in Poland to produce at least one euro of revenue," said Jean Laronze, president of Saint-Gobain's Polish division. The company has so far invested z³.3 billion in Poland over the last ten years and currently owns 17 companies in the country and 54 production facilities in total. "We plan to invest roughly EUR 10 million in the purchasing of new equipment for the Ko³o plant," Laronze explained. Saint-Gobain also plans to enter the domestic market for plastic and glass containers through local acquisitions. (
