Saint-Gobain is supplying the glazing for the new tramway that links Strasbourg (France) and Kehl (Germany), on the other side of the Rhine.

Designed by Alstom, the first France-Germany cross-border tramway brings the two cities closer and makes residents’ travel easier by crossing the Rhine Bridge.

For the 12 tram units each measuring 45 meters long with a capacity for 288 passengers, Saint-Gobain has supplied very large glazing for the vehicle windows and doors providing easy access for passengers and enhancing their sense of comfort and safety.

The Group has also manufactured the large – 4.6 square meter – complex-shaped, heated windshields and the cab sidelites that de-ice and defog in winter providing the driver with excellent all-round visibility in any weather condition.
