It has been more than three and a half years since the last lost-time accident.Out of the 20,000 N.C. companies, Safelite Glass is one of only 48 at such a plateau.
The manufacturing facility produces an estimated 28,000 windshields a week with a total of 1.4 million windshields manufactured per year.
"This is a significant achievement for our associates and I'm incredibly proud," said Rich Glover, director of manufacturing and distribution. "We all want to return home safely to our families at the end of each day.
"It's vital that we foster an environment where we can complete our jobs safely and our associates are accomplishing just that."
Glover credits much of the accomplishment to the daily emphasis on organized effectiveness, leadership training and safety education, such as adoption of the DuPont STOP Safety Training Observation Program.
