Vietnam's first factory for high-grade and large-sized glass products located in Dong Nai Province officially began operations on March third.

The factory is said to be able to help reduce the nation's reliance on imports for finished products made with float glass and relies to a large extent on know-how of LiSEC.

The SADO Group has invested VND500 billion (US$23.8 million) in the project's first phase. The total costs of the project, which will be implemented in two phases, are estimated at VND2 trillion ($95 million).

SADO opted for LiSEC solutions for the processing of flat glass. The installation included glass storage and handling equipment, glass cutting tables, an IGU line and a glass laminating line. SADO General Director Nguyen Cong Chinh: “LiSEC is known for its high level of operators’ know-how and has an extreme good reputation in the market. LiSEC solutions enable us to meet the high expectations of our current and future business partners.”

Nguyen Cong Chinh said his company is the only one in the country that can provide top-notch quality glass products of sizes up to 3.3m x 6.0m that meet European standards including solutions for soundproofing and insulation applications. He said the float glass used in the company's products is imported.

The new factory has an annual capacity of 12 million square meters of several products including tempered glass, digital ceramic printed glass, laminated and insulated ones. It will also make aluminum windows and doors.
