Reichhold names new supply chain leaders

Reichhold, Inc. announced three leaders to jointly lead its newly formed supply chain organization, which combines the company's purchasing and logistics groups.

The new supply chain organization was created to strategically manage key materials and processes in a focused, centralized way, by aggressively driving improved performance in all aspects of the supply chain.This organizational structure provides critical leverage in streamlining processes, procedures and total cost value.

The following three people were named senior directors of supply chain to lead this strategic initiative reporting into Mitzi Van Leeuwen, senior vice president of corporate services. All three will be headquartered in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Donna Massari was named senior director of supply chain supporting the Global Composites business unit. Donna is accountable for the non-manufacturing components of the composites supply chain.

Donna has over 14 years experience in purchasing, manufacturing and supply chain management for international Fortune 500 companies like Honeywell, Allied Signal and General Electric. Donna's successes include developing and driving supply chain, manufacturing, purchasing, IT, and sales cost saving strategies that included integrated supply programs, to reduce non-value added work throughout the customer order fulfillment process at her previous employers. Donna has a M.S. in management from Purdue University, a B.S. in industrial engineering from University of Pittsburgh (1989) and a B.A. in mathematics, St. Vincent College (1987). Donna also is a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the National Association of Purchasing Management and Six Sigma green belt certified.

Don Brandt was named senior director of supply chain supporting the Global Coating and Performance Resins business unit. Don is accountable for the non-manufacturing components of the coating and performance resins (C&PR) supply chain. With over 17 years of experience, Don has purchasing, plant manufacturing, and quality management experience at the Eastman Kodak Company. Most recently he was the Worldwide Purchasing manager supporting the Imaging Materials Manufacturing organization, where he was responsible for worldwide purchasing for polyester and acetate raw materials, intermediate chemicals and resins, and specialty polyester films. Don rounds out his experience by having spent time as a plant manager, flow team manager, and quality engineer.

Don has an Executive MBA from the Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York (2001); master of engineering graduate level courses at Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York; and a B.S. in chemical engineering from University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (1984). Don also has extensive Six Sigma training. Michael Beaver was named senior director of supply chain responsible for Reichhold's MRO, logistics and export services, as well as various strategic raw material purchasing initiatives. He also supports the company's adhesives business and will support Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex LLC once finalized.

Most recently, Mike served as senior director of logistics and export services where he was responsible for managing freight expenditures and international sales. He also managed corporate North American logistics, import/export international logistics, accounts payable, international customer service, international sales, and public warehousing.

Mike has also played a critical role as the process team lead for the purchase to pay process as part of the Enterprise Effectiveness project. Mike has led a global team of purchasing professionals to build the foundation to standardize the purchasing process globally using SAP as the enabler.

Prior to joining Reichhold, Mike was a SAP supply chain consulting manager with Ernst & Young LLP. He also had 10 years of experience in project engineering and plant management with Ashland Chemical. Mike has an MBA from the University of South Florida and his B.S. in industrial distribution engineering from Clarkson University. "Our customers are driving us to change in how we do business, which translates into our approach in managing the supply chain process. We believe this new team, with centralized focus, will drive synergies and reduce total cost across the corporation," said Mitzi Van Leeuwen, senior vice president of corporate services.
