Pittsburgh Glass Works LLC will close its facility in Evart, Mich., due to the decline in demand for auto glass, the company announced.

"Arial">PGW, which is the former auto glass unit of PPG Industries Inc. (NYSE:PPG), released a statement saying it was "responding to excess capacity resulting from the decline that is not expected to improve in the foreseeable future."

Spokesman Richard Heilman said there are 120 people employed at Evart. Those jobs will be eliminated when the plant closes. He said the closure was effective at the end of March. Parts currently produced at the Evart facility will be transferred to other factories in North America, the company said.

Pittsburgh Glass Works announced it was closing two plants in Canada and one in Delaware in December, which resulted in 150 layoffs.
