The day is specifically focused at developing and preparing joinery and woodworking companies on the big issues affecting their businesses.
As well as addressing a range of topics including CE Marking, building regulations, health and safety and lean manufacturing, there will be an Innovation Masterclass on fire-resistant glazing from Steve Bond, Customer Support Manager for Pilkington's fire protection business in the UK.
The Masterclass will explain how ordinary glass reacts in a fire situation and highlight how fire-resistant glass performs differently. It will also look at how glass manufacturers have developed new technologies to provide a wide range of glass solutions. It will also reinforce the message that, to ensure the expected fire performance is achieved, fire-resistant glass must always be specified as part of a tested and approved glazing system and installed by specialists.
Steve comments, "The conference is an excellent opportunity for timber door and screen manufacturers and installers to learn about the issues that will impact on their businesses now and in the future. The Fire Masterclass will help those companies to understand the complex area of fire protection and provide them with the information needed to ensure that the right glass is specified in the right place."
