Mitterberghütten in Austria has achieved 1,000 days without a lost time accident."It has been a long haul and everyone has worked very hard so we are extremely pleased with this record," said branch manager Hubert Schwarz.
"I think one of the most important elements of our safety campaign has been the review and evaluation system and the fact that all employees have come to realise the importance of reporting and analysing every incident in order to prevent the same thing happening again.
"Every two weeks we meet with the safety team, discuss these incidents and take appropriate action."
The branch employs 55 people and produces double-glazed units, toughened glass and some decorative glasses. It also cuts fire-protection glasses.
