The US subsidiary of Phoenix Solar and Silicon Ranch have formed an alliance to develop utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plants 1MW and above in size in Tennessee and the Southeast.
Their initial venture is a 1.4MW project within city limits of Pulaski, which they say will be the largest privately owned solar installation in Tennessee. The $5m facility is due to begin commercial operation at the end of first quarter 2012.
Silicon Ranch chief executive Matt Kisber tells Recharge that his company will act as developer, owner and operator of the ground-mount plant, with Phoenix Solar responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and long-term maintenance. It will utilize Trina Solar panels.
