This year P-D Refractories is investing around EUR 1.2 million in the expansion of a new post-processing at the Wetro site.

The construction of an industrial building, which has already been completed in recent years, as well as the initiated restructuring of the ceramic processing department, will be expanded in 2018 by a further 1.000 m² of a new building construction.

In addition to a new grinding plant for large-format blocks, this department will be used to set up a number of already existing saws, milling machines and lathes.

With this investment, P-D Refractories, Europe's largest producer of tin bath bottom and tank blocks, is responding to the increased demand of the container and float glass industry.

Furthermore, the steadily increasing quality requirements of machined shaped bricks, which are part of the core business of the Wetro site, are taken into account.
