Owens-Illinois Announces New Chief Procurement Officer

Owens-Illinois, Inc., announced that Raymond C. Schlaff has been named vice president and chief procurement officer (CPO) effective November 1.In his new assignment as CPO, Schlaff will lead the planning, development, communication and implementation of the Company's global procurement process.

He will be responsible for aligning the worldwide procurement strategy with all business unit strategies as well as developing a global organizational structure to support O-I's procurement challenges and objectives.

"Our global procurement initiative is one of our top five business improvement programs and reinforces our desires to leverage our global capabilities and to focus on fundamentals," said Steve McCracken, O-I Chairman and CEO.

Schlaff has spent 26 years in procurement, supply chain and general management roles with GE, DuPont, Ondeo-Nalco and Tyco. He has lived in Europe and has significant experience in procurement transformation involving Asia and new business models.
