This recognition by SCS assures building professionals using Owens Corning fiber glass insulation of the recycled content in order to achieve LEED certification and meet other green building guidelines, an increasingly critical measurement used in sustainable building.

The 35 percent post-industrial and post-consumer content in the companys fiber glass products is made possible by enhancements in the Owens Corning manufacturing process that utilize more waste glass from additional sources.

Owens Corning Fiber Glass Certified as Industrys Highest Level of Recycled Content
At the NAHB Green Building Conference at Atlanta, Owens Corning today announced that its line of fiber glass insulation products has been certified to contain an average of 35 percent recycled content by leading third-party certifier Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), an increase of 5 percent over its prior certification making Owens Cornings certification level the highest in North America.
