Mathew Cassels has finally won the UK Master Fitter Competition. During the final on 16 September 2010 the winners of various regional competitions of last summer met in the Cardiff Millennium Stadium.

During the National Training Awards ceremony later the same day the new UK Hero got his award, a check and the invitation for The International Master Fitter Competition 2010. And last but not least an ovation of those 250 present at the National Cricket Centre which was perfectly modified for this purpose.

For many years the United Kingdom did not participate during European or international master fitter competitions for the automotive glass aftermarket industry. At the end of 2009 a broad group of representatives from the branch gathered to cooperate on UK’s participation during the The International Master Fitter Competition 2010 at glasstec in Düsseldorf, Germany. A series of regional competitions provided the best technicians for the final round in Cardiff during which Mathew Cassels triumphed.

Says the quite new winner: “Actually representing the UK hasn’t sunk in yet but after the UK final I feel confident and hope to be able to keep my head and do the best I can. At the end of the day, we will all be winners from our nations and all deserve to be there and I wish everyone all the best.”
